In tough times, let us never forget the greatness of our country. Neighbors who help each other, volunteers who travel hundreds of miles to help flood victims or build homes for the underprivileged. That’s what makes this country great. It is the huge caring spirit that causes us to stand shoulder to shoulder in times of adversity. Let us always advocate for what is right, good and true. Let us never forget the things that make us strong.
Jeff Swartzendruber
This past year, we at Image Pointe know and have felt from a lot of you that tough times have fallen on your local union. Not all, but many that we have spoken with have sounded discouraged at what 2009 has brought. We hope you know that after 33 years of working with many of you, we truly have been concerned about your local and really have cared.
One of the hardest things to hear this year was from one of my dear UAW customers that called and informed me that his son, who was serving our country in Iraq, was in a tragic accident and was flown to Germany and soon to be transferred to Texas to the burn unit. I have never met this customer in person but yet just working with him, he has become very dear to our family. I feel our family, as well as our company felt and heard the pain in this father’s voice.
Immediately we started to pray for this soldier’s life, we had no idea if he would live or even walk out of this Texas hospital. We have since heard that our prayers have been answered; though his son’s recovery will be very hard and long, he will be alright. Now we rejoice when we hear this father’s grateful voice.
And let us also remember the stories of encouragement, the things that speak of our country’s strength. I have heard story upon story of people coming together to help their brothers and sisters in times of tragedy. For example floods, job loss, even the tragedy of death, but always the stories I have heard have been those who want to bring hope to each other or to the less fortunate. We are a strong nation, we have a deep love for each other and I would venture to say the most giving nation ever.
Let us this 2010 new year keep always before us what really matters in this life. We are a free nation, we all have so much to be grateful for. We care for each other like no other nation does and we care for others outside our nation, and we should be very proud of both.
As always we hope you enjoy your Image Pointe 2010 catalog. We have many new designs, many new garments, many new promotional items of which we are very proud, but more than all that, we hope you find Image Pointe will help your union have a STRONG VOICE in 2010. Our goal at Image Pointe has always been and will always be to provide the best quality USA/Union Made products and service.
